All-Flash brings tenfold performance boost and five times more storage to Panjit
Taiwan, February 7, 2017 — Pure Storage (NYSE:PSTG), the market’s leading independent solid-state array vendor, today announced that Panjit, the leading semiconductor manufacturer in Taiwan, has selected Pure Storage to support its rapid business growth. With all-flash, Panjit saw an immediate tenfold increase in system performance and five times more data storage capacity, achieving a whole new level of agility in its IT infrastructure.
The integration of two FlashArray//M20 systems in January, 2016 has clearly demonstrated the power of all-flash. Panjit’s employees have provided positive feedback about the fast speed and efficiency of the system. And as a result of Pure Storage’s unique data reduction technologies, Panjit has also been able to free up storage, resolving a big challenge it previously had around insufficient capacity.
Back in December 2015 when Panjit was facing tremendous infrastructure problems in performance and bottle-neck issues, the company recognized that all-flash arrays (AFA) were the solution to its data challenges. Pure Storage stood out among different vendors for its proven track record in all-flash. During the proof-of-concept phase – subjected to Panjit’s tough, real-world conditions, Pure Storage successfully demonstrated the power and performance of its solutions.
Panjit’s IT manager Max Chen said: “As our business continues to grow rapidly, the pressure on IT is mounting. We had two major pain points. The first was network congestion, which occurs every month at the peak of deal closures. We were unable to access critical data efficiently. At the same time, we were reaching the brink of our storage capacity.’’
With the use of Pure Storage, Panjit’s IT team also reported the following benefits:
- Dramatic reduction in the time IT needs to oversee storage operations, channeling more resources to more important priorities
- Only two hours required for system testing, compared to two days previously
- Upgrades to the system do not require downtime now, compared to major disruption and downtime required in the past
Chen added: “Pure Storage is a market leader in terms of its advanced storage architecture and design, which truly brings out the best in their all-flash array. We’re also extremely pleased with the work delivered by Pure Storage and its partner Ivan Information Technology, who have demonstrated utmost professionalism and commitment to making our transition and implementation seamless and delightful.
Peter Liu, Regional Director of Pure Storage Taiwan, said: “We are delighted to be working with a market leader like Panjit, in unleashing the power of Smart Storage – storage that’s effortless, efficient, and evergreen. Organisations in Taiwan are increasingly recognizing the need for all-flash, and we continue to see strong growth and demand for our solutions across various sectors, especially the manufacturing industry.”
