Go Do Good

At Pure Good, our mantra is “Go Do Good”. Through projects locally and globally, we’re empowering our employees and nonprofit partners to build a better world.

Pure Good Story

Pure Good Foundation was started by a small group of Pure Storage employees who saw a need in the community and knew they could make a difference. A few months before going public, Pure employees approved and funded the creation of Pure Good by donating stock shares. We’re proud to be an employee-seeded foundation and work each day to honor their generosity.

Today, the Foundation divides its efforts across three areas:

Puritan Philanthropy – Focused on our core value of teamwork and our corporate culture of doing good, we offer employees three ways to deepen their engagement with local causes dear to their hearts. Our Employee Volunteer Program includes Global Interest Grants to promote team building through charity, the Community Volunteer program to amplify individual philanthropic work with donations, and the Board Member program to support those non-profits our employees invest the most time into.

Environment – Pure’s products have always had a positive net effect for our customers and the planet. From our Evergreen program to eliminating plastic in our offices, we continually analyze how we can do more to ensure we’re decreasing our environmental footprint. We amplify those efforts by investing in non-profits working on these issues.

Workforce Development – The world is becoming increasingly technological and many individuals looking for jobs find themselves lacking the training necessary to compete in today’s job market. Pure Good pairs Pure Storage employees with workforce development organizations that provide continuing education, professional development, and entry-level jobs for people from historically disadvantaged populations.

Hands-on Volunteerism

Pure Good pairs Pure Storage employees with environmental and workforce development organizations that are local to where they live and work across the globe. We match needs identified by these non-profits to appropriate skill sets among Pure employees.  By hosting events such as tree plantings and 1:1 mentorship at our offices + virtually for remote employees, Pure Good is able to catalyze our global workforce to make an impact on thousands of lives each year.

How To Apply For Support

If your organization works in workforce development, environmental efforts, or sustainability and you believe you’d be a good fit for Pure Storage employee volunteerism – or if you have an innovative project that needs support – please reach out to Beth Michel with a brief description of your proposal. If it fits within the foundation’s guidelines, we’ll invite you to submit a formal application.

Global Impact

PureService4Good pairs one-of-a-kind leadership development for teams of Pure Storage employees with an immersive service project internationally. A partnership between Pure Good and Team4Tech, PureService4Good produces transformative first-hand experiences in global aid – for all involved.

In Cape Town, South Africa our team worked with the LEAP Science and Maths School to provide resources for educators, enabling them to better engage their students. We have continued working with LEAP across South Africa and have now volunteered at 4 of their 6 schools.

In rural Alaska, our teams worked with the community and local school district to update technology offerings for both the educators and students.  We are excited to continue working with rural school districts across the U.S. so that all students have the same growth opportunities as those from urban districts.

In addition to bringing new classroom tech to an after-school STEM program for K-12 students living in Vietnamese orphanages, our teams also helped establish an Innovation Hub for students aging out of the orphanages to continue developing career readiness skills.
