Challenges
Organizations often struggle with the complexity of modern IT infrastructure. Development teams want to take advantage of Kubernetes to deliver applications quickly but don't want to invest time in maintaining the underlying environment. Often burdened with legacy platforms nearing end of support life and a heightened need for security and disaster recovery, customers like a large German bank look to DXC Technology to help modernize and move to the cloud.
Results
Portworx from Pure Storage meets the bank's zero data loss Recovery Point Objective (RPO) for disaster recovery and delivers a Recovery Time Objective (RTO) of less than 60 minutes. The success of Portworx for disaster recovery reinforces the bank's confidence in DXC Technology's Managed Container Services. DXC now offers Portworx-based disaster recovery services to other clients.

Introduction

DXC Technology, one of the world's largest technology service providers, is widely regarded for its expertise in IT services. When one of its customers--a large German bank--needed a robust DR solution to prevent disruptions and meet regulatory requirements for data availability, DXC brought in Portworx Enterprise and Portworx DR by Pure Storage. Implementing an active/passive Metro-DR solution in two data centers enabled immediate replication of changes to data and applications from source to destination cluster. DXC Technology now offers its disaster recovery solution to other customers, and also uses Portworx Enterprise as the container persistent storage layer for its Container DevSecOps Platform (CDP) that enables clients to rapidly build and change DevSecOps toolchains.

“After evaluating how it could meet stringent recovery time SLAs, we selected Portworx Enterprise and Portworx DR to power disaster recovery for Managed Container Services customers.”
